LIHU‘E — The Jehovah’s Witnesses’ convention, “Safeguard Your Heart!” will run Friday through Sunday at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall in Lihu‘e.
“The event is free, and we want everybody to know that everybody is invited,” said Tony Divan, a local media contact for the organization. The event is one of 385 conventions that will be held in 103 cities throughout the United States.
Through discourses, Bible readings and presentations, and even a live play, emphasis will be put on ways of protecting the figurative heart in order to enhance one’s spiritual well-being, family life and happiness.
Positive messages and practical suggestions will be delivered on an on-and-off basis while re-examining the biblical references to the figurative heart based on Proverbs 4:23.
The first of the three-day event begins Friday at 9:20 a.m. and will focus mainly on passages of Scripture, including 1 Samuel 16:7, 1 Chronicles 28:9 and Matthew 12:34.
An estimated 1,000 people will attend the three-day Bible-based event, organizers say.
Worldwide, almost 8 million people belong to a Jehovah’s Witnesses congregation.
