More than 300 volunteers showed up to help rebuild the inside of the hall as well as construct a brand new car port.
The Regional Building Committee (RBC) started the demolition of the hall in May and officially started rebuilding Aug. 9. Despite rainy conditions on that weekend all the work was completed on schedule, including framing, HVAC, electrical, drywall, roofing, masonry, and insulation.
The following weekend, August 17-19, tile crews and finish carpenters did work to make the hall look even better. On Aug. 24 and 26, the carpet crew worked on laying the flooring, and wallpaper was put up.
Worship is planned to resume at the Mt. Pleasant Kingdom Hall located at 8065 E. Broadway Road in mid-September. Until that time congregation members are meeting at the Alma Kingdom Hall located at 107 Linwood Ave. in Alma.
The congregation gave a special thanks to the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe for use of their land that served as a parking lot for all the volunteers.
