PATERSON - A two-vehicle collision at a Paterson intersection resulted in a fiery wreck that damaged a home and caused multiple injuries.
The crash happened at around 3 a.m. Sunday next to a gas station at the intersection of Totowa Road and Wayne Avenue and left one of the drivers in critical condition.
Witnesses say after the two cars collided, one of the cars hopped the curb and plowed into a house before both went up in flames. One person tells News 12 the driver of the car that crashed into the house ran from the car and then collapsed on the sidewalk.
The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office says a firefighter was hurt, and another person was critically injured.
Some neighbors say the two drivers were racing along the straight stretch of road when one car cut off the other and caused the crash.
However, investigators have not confirmed that information, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
