Jehovah’s begin convention

The Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses will be holding their annual convention at the Bell County Expo Center for the next five weeks starting on July 13.

An estimation of 6,000 people will attend the event.

This year's theme is "Safeguard Your Heart!" which comes from biblical statements that reveal how protecting one's figurative heart will enhance the qualities of your life and have a better relationship with God.

The Jehovah's Witnesses believe that drawing oneself closer to God, living by Bible principles gives purpose to life, promotes strong family ties, and develops productive and honest citizens.

With a three day "heart examination" starting on Friday morning, you can explore your figurative heart and strengthen your spirituality with a fresh and fun take on Biblical references. The event will include dramatic Bible readings and presentations, chance to examine interesting parallels between physical heart ailments and spiritual afflictions, a baptism to "Give your heart to Jehovah", live plays with real life circumstances and how to deal with them, talks on how to have lasting happiness throughout your life, and so much more.

"The baptism is something that everyone really enjoys," local media news contact David Murray said. "I think it's an important opportunity to receive the instruction and scripture that can help everyone in their daily lives. We thoroughly enjoy coming to Belton because it's a great place to gather, everyone is so kind. We appreciate all of the merchants especially the Expo Center; they always do a wonderful job."

Jehovah's Witnesses encourage everyone to attend and learn more about each of these topics.

Programs in English will be on July 13-15, July 20-22, and July 27-29. Programs in Spanish will be on Aug. 3-5, Aug. 10-12, and Aug. 17-19.

The public is invited to attend any of the programs. All morning sessions begin at 9:20 a.m. each day. Afternoon sessions on Friday will begin at 1:50 p.m., Saturday at 1:35 p.m., and on Sunday at 1:25 p.m.

Admission is free. Jehovah's Witnesses are supported entirely by donations from volunteers.
